Somewhat rare ? 1979 450 SLC
I have been told by many MB enthusiasts that have seen my car , a 1979 450 SLC that any 70 s SLC s that are still on the road and look this good are rare . The SLC version of the 450 s produced throughout the 70 s were one fourth that of the SL s because of demand from Mercedes and popularity . I really like the SLC version better than the SL because the added length of the car and the less radical angle of the larger back window make for a much sleeker look with better lines . Any cars looks are only as strong as it s weakest point , meaning - that most of the convertible tops I ve seen are weathered looking and the back window is UV damaged or scratched up and that the top as a whole detracts from the cars looks . I have an electric sun roof that I can open and close anyway so I don t have to deal with the noise that convertible tops make rattling against their frame .

How about including a picture of your car?

I've always thought the SLC's were very cool to say the least. And, if you do show a photo, I hope you're leaning against her drinking a glass of pink champale on ice!!! I know I would be!!! "Thats no brag, just fact"

I also think that the SLC is a great looking car. Unfortunately, the 107 crowd disagrees and does not like to spend money on them, so prices are mired at about half of those of the SL's.
