OIL Crankcase capacity 280SL (113)

with filter change..anybody know offhand. ...it would bother me to over fill..thanx

Check your owners manual first. My Haynes manual calls for 11.5 pints in the crankcase,
1 pint in the filter and 1 pint in the oil cooler - for a total of 13.5 pints.

Six quarts WITH oil cooler drained.

It is more like 6.8 quarts if you have the oil cooler, 6.3 quarts without the oil cooler. This is per the service manual for the 68-71 280sl.
