I am not a purist. It is different, will turn heads and I like it. In fact, even the wheels add nicely to the look. Sometimes the latest modern wheel just don't seem to work on an older Mercedes. Since you have gone this far, you might consider removing the door handles for a smoother side appearance.

I am going to shave the door handles, I have put every thing in so that my doors open with the push of a button. I just dont want to have primer spots until I am almost ready to paint it.

One Question
What did you do with the remaining part (hole) of the lights, after installing those smaller modern lights. I ask because the picture is black in that section, and no reflection is shown. I'm surprised to say, that the wheels actually look pretty good on your benz, with its setup. What other plans do you have for the car. A wide body kit, a chop?

first I am going to put in a 350 in it then I will work on the body, I would love to do a wide body kit but I am not sure if there are kits for this car or if I would have to build it from scratch. If any one knows of a kit let me know.

Why do you want to put a less powerful engine in it?

Sorry, but it really doesn't do anything for me. The all black paint looks great but the lights and the wheels are too distracting. You asked, I gave.

d-money,
When you finally commence your LT-1 engine conversion, I hope you keep us informed on the details with maybe some progress pictures. I was considering doing the same but the MBZ 111 chassis front frame crossbeam and aft steering rods versus a Chev engine rear sump oil pan made the conversion look very complicated requiring considerable fabrication. Ford and Chrysler have some engines with front sumps like the MBZ. |

I will keep you guys posted, I will but putting an after market oil pan and set up on just for that reason. Do any of you know any one on here that have made motor swaps?
