Temp Sensor on air intake
I've been reading for a while, and worked through many issues, but I still have a few issues to deal with....I recently bought a 67 w108.....several months ( and $'s) later, it is on the road, but I found that the cold start solenoid was not wired up...connected it and starts much easier........then I noticed another wire hanging (idle problems, unless the idle is set high) ...then I noticed a temp sensor in the air intake plentum directly downstream from the air cleaner with nothing connected to either terminal. My question is what should the resistance of this sensor be cold and hot? And is one side grounded? Thanks

'67 108? 280SE? Hmmm, it's either a 68 280SE (or later) m130 (straight 6) with mechanical injection (did they have air temp sensors?) or a 67 250SE...
Sounds like someone replaced your air filter assembly at one point with one from a 3.5 or 4.5 in which case you needn't worry... Or, someone replaced your engine, or someone told you the wrong year? You have the m130 I6, or the 3.5, or 4.5? (3.5 would be a Euro if 108)... 4.5's started in '71. |

Mike: The D-Jet 3.5 and 4.5's are completely different beasts than the mechanically-injected M130's.
Nov '67 -> 1968 model year. My 280SE 4.5, mfg'd in October of 1971, is a 1972 model year. |
