Mistress names all of her cars. My 1984 300TD was named "Max." My 1987 560SEC is simply known as "The Dee8gonator." I guess I'm going to have to come up with a name for my CLS500 now.

Any suggestions?

My anthracite grey metallic '85 300D is Lilith.

She is the first car that I had who really needed a name. I thought she needed a nice dark one to match her icy elegance, lol.
I contemplate seeing if that plate is available, but I doubt I'd bother to get it.

After all the transmission problems I've had, my '71 is generally "The Blue POS", "The Blue Piece of Junk", or other names I can't repeat here.

As far as not naming construction equipment (mentioned a page or so ago), watch "The Fighting Seabees" and look for Natasha. Also, when I was in Iraq we had several named bulldozers. Lazy Eye had a bad hydraulic valve and you had to work the stick back and forth while you picked the blade up to keep it somewhat level. Helen Keller had hillbilly armor and consequently bad visibility. We had a '76 D8K named Natasha, and D9's named Homewrecker and Apocalypse by the Marine unit we borrowed them from.

With a singular exception, I've never named my vehicles, though I've often referred to them by a nickname, such as "the benz" or "the duck" (short for "Ducati" in case you're not familiar with that).

The single exception was when I was dating a girl many, many years ago, she had named her Skylark "Carmine," because she liked the play on words, as in "car - mine." She asked me what my car was named (a 76 F-10) and I told her "POSMINE" as in "Piece of *** - mine". She wanted me to be serious, so I picked "Skyler" after some idiot character in a movie (can't recall the movie) that looked like a bum and was unreliable. Seemed to fit, though really the car was pretty good on the reliability front.
