Any harm in putting an M110 on an engine stand?

I have a spare M110 engine in my garage...still on the crate it was delivered on, is there any harm in storing it on an engine stand (see picture) for an extended period of time?

It would make it easier to clean-up and take up less space in my shop.

Are there any tips or do-s don't-s about which trans housing bolts to use?
Thanks,

Personally, I would remove the adapter plate on the rear of the engine and bolt the stand to the block. That engine is very heavy and there is a lot of stress on the adapter plate and under the 'wrong' condition, can snap.

My M180's block is bolted to the engine stand, without the plate. I know it's safe.

Where in NOVA?

I personally don't like this kind of engine stand. Too much over hanging weight.
The stress on the stand must be very high.
Every time you touch the engine it moves like my dogs tail.
Did you ever try to loosen or tighten a set of head bolts on one of this stands, you start in one corner of the shop and end up in the opposite corner when you finished.
I use the 4 studs for the engine mount to bolt my engine to the stand.
The stand is bolted to the floor.
Much less overhanging weight, more stable mounting.

Put the engine on the stand and do what you have to do.
When you finished, take it of.
I would sleep much better with my engine on the floor then on one of this stands.

Mog Man, I like that, except it looks like you're missing a nut on the mount. Where did you get that adapter?

BTW, you should see the engine stand used for Ferrari engines. I'll see if I can post a pic. It uses two engine stands, mounted on the sides of the block.

Good idea, that'd probably be smart...I may actually make a wood-brace or something to take some weight off using the engine mount locations.

I'm in Arlington, VA BTW.

I know I missing a nut.
It's so hard to get to this one once the engine is assembled.
The stand and the adapter is self made.
I also have adapters for the 103,104,603 family of engines, the 102 and the old 121 and 180 engines with the sheet metal plates on the side of the block.
For the 116,117 V8 engines I use two stands, one on each side of the engine.

X2
If you do the brace right it should fit every 110, 108, 115, 114, 127, 129, 130, 121, 123, 180, 615, 616, 617, 621 engine mounted to that stand.

This is the Ferrari stand I was thinking about:

Building a Ferrari V-12 Engine Stand

Tom is a very interesting man, check out his site, it shows his 330 America rebuild.

Nice Ferrari stand.
It's not that hard to make one of those for a M110 out of two Harbor freight stands.
Still would fit all the engine models I listed in a earlier post.
Here a pic of a solid mounted V8 stand.

Don't know what you are talking about.
It's just a normal 500.
