16x8 ET40 Fit 124 (photos)
Finally put the 16s on the '95, fit great and look great.
ET40 is perfect IMO for keeping the suspension & steering geometry as close as possible to balanced, and keeps the rubber in the bodywork fairly well. The rims are close enough to the (front) struts to not use clip-on wheel weights, but enough clearance. Tires are another matter, 225s are so close that they can touch the strut under hard cornering, I'm going to try 215s. Rear clearance is great, nothing even close. Tires are (temporarily) 225-60 16s, too big, will change tomorrow.

Looks good.....What other 16" wheels have you tried or considered?
This might not apply to the W124 E420 because of larger brakes, correct? The PO of my car installed 18" amg's with an offset of 46. I get scraping in reverse only on the front struts and the inside wheel. I am trying to figure out what options I have. I would look into these 16" 8 hole's if I thought they would fit. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/sale-trade-wanted-items/1439956-16-8-hole-setup-6-wheels.html

This thread: 16" 8-holes on a 124 discusses the stock 500E 8x16 ET34 wheels on a 300E, says they fit well.
I was looking to keep the bearing loads and steering offset as close as possible to stock 6-1/2" wheels, which the ET40 does but it limits tire width a bit on the inside. The ET34 might be a better choice for front tire / strut clearance. I'm not sure the '94 E430 has larger brakes than the '95 E320, the same wheels were standard on both cars (6-1/2Jx15 ET44).
