Troubleshooting input to control module

My schematic shows pin 1 of the console switch should be connected to ground. Pressing the switch to lower the window connects pin 1 with pin 4 of the switch; pressing the switch to raise connects pin 1 with pin 3. Pin 4 of the switch is wired to pin 8 of connector "Y" on the control module, and pin 3 is wired to pin 7 of the connector.

So you can remove the switch and verify it alone, or you can probe the connector of the control module and check the operation of the switch in conjunction with its associated wiring.

Come to think of it, might be a good idea to pull the connector on the control module. Mine showed a little bit of corrosion. Perhaps yours has some that is resulting in a dodgy contact.
