Very few of the diesel engines in small and medium size cars and trucks are originally sleeved. Most are so called "parent bore", which is just a fancy way of saying conventional unsleeved construction. Wet sleeved engines tend to be rather too heavy and expensive for light automotive applications. Just about any engine gas or diesel can have sleeves fitted by a rebuilder if the engine is too worn or has a damaged bore that can't be cleaned up by reboring.
