It could be that the fluid overflowed the reservoir when you installed the new pads. As has been noted, the fatter pads push the fluid back up the system into the reservoir. It is a good idea to remove some fluid before fitting new pads, to prevent this.

Check to see if there is a trail of fluid from the reservoir to where you're seeing it leaking by the front tire.
