P/S fluids are basically the same a hydraulic fluids. Viscosity is similar to a 10W oil, but those with higher VI index are probably closer to a 10W-30. ATFs are in this same general range.

An important attribute of hydraulic oils is having some ZDDP anti-wear additive, but they don't need the friction modifier used to prevent clutch chatter in auto trans fluids.
