Makes perfect sense.
On your vehicle, all those flippers and little hoses serve no purpose other than to run the EGR. So, you don't need to purchase any new parts. In fact, you can disconnect all the hoses to the black box and toss them out..........plug the ports that they start from........and clean up the engine compartment.
