yep thats right...

your rubber shock mount brok in half and left the majority connected to the air filter housing and left the bottom portion still screwed into the mount.. so tike a pair of channel lock and unscrew the bottom portion of the shock mount from the bracket... and do the same with the bottom of the air filter housing... and it should work fine....when you put it all back together be cautious when you slip the airfilter housing back down into the turbo oil return..


by the way, this is a great introduction to working on your 300sd... this is a great place to start....I will give you some advise as you start working your way around this car.... 1. becareful with the neck and the nipple of the radiator... they brake very easily... so if your thinking about new hoses just be very catious....also when you decide to do your fuel filter... refil it with diesil before you put it on.... and remember you must pump the system back up.. but all in all your on your way...
