So, if Mexico sues the US, does the US get to counter-sue Mexico for doing things like publishing
Mexican government maps and a
Mexican government comic book on how to cross the border illegally into the US? Especially since Mexican government comics aimed at
illegal crossing of MEXICO'S southern border with Central America apparently don't contain safety tips or info on living peacefully in Mexico like the US border crossing version.
Or for Mexico having their consulates distribute
patriotic Mexican school books to US public schools and 4.7 million consular identity cards to assist illegal immigrants in obtaining drivers licenses and checking accounts?
My wife's family is from South America - legally. They took their turn and applied, legally. Some of the family were accepted to the US, some to Canada, and some were not accepted. They live with it, and travel for reunions. They wanted a better life, so LEGALLY came here and worked for it. Maybe if they had a government that threatened to sue the US if the country didn't let them in illegally things might have been different, or maybe not. But then, they didn't come from a country like Mexico where the largest source of export income (after oil) is the money being sent home by illegal immigrants. Also, when they came here, they knew that at that time their children who were born in this country wouldn't automatically be US citizens if their parents were here illegally, and that they were not automatically entitled to free medical care and schooling if they were not citizens.
Lots of people from all over the world want a better life, and are willing to work hard to get it. Mexico's attempt to monopolize immigration to the US discriminates against immigrants from other countries. And if they aren't required to follow the legal mechanisms in place for immigration, then immigrants from other countries will either have to accept loosing their chance, or will join the illegal waves. (already started, and snowballing!)
Mexico's financial self-interest is more than a little obvious on this issue!
