I completely understand your feelings on this. And, it's not simply in WV. I had to search far and wide until I stumbled into a 14 mm bit for the diff drain plug. Metric and M/B specific parts are few and far between and some careful planning is necessary for every job.

Inevitably, a tool or a part is missing and the project must be delayed. Better to delay it rather than try a "git 'er done" attitude with a M/B. The vehicle has a nasty habit of biting you in the ass when you try this.

So, realize that you cannot always finish the job in a single day. Most of my projects never get finished in one day. Even the replacement of some vacuum pods on the SD took over one week to diagnose and obtain parts. It's the nature of these vehicles.
