Rocker tower bolts
I decided to replace the valve stem seals.
I guess the socket head cap screws holding the rocker towers require a 9MM hex wrench? Why would they use a size that isn't included in the typical set? 10? Fine. 8? Okay. But 9? When I get home again, does anyone know where I can order these on-line? Maybe a socket-bit set that includes a 9MM? Thanks

Okay, THANKS FOR THE CAPS!
And the answer I was looking for is... they're 12 point star bolts. Couldn't see that while they were full of oil. And we don't have a JC Whitney or Autozone around here. Sorry about the attitude, it's just that I'm sick of this place where everything is a struggle. The prevailing attitude here is, "Why ya need a metric bolt? Just stick a nail in it and bend it over. Get 'er done."

Inevitably, a tool or a part is missing and the project must be delayed. Better to delay it rather than try a "git 'er done" attitude with a M/B. The vehicle has a nasty habit of biting you in the ass when you try this. So, realize that you cannot always finish the job in a single day. Most of my projects never get finished in one day. Even the replacement of some vacuum pods on the SD took over one week to diagnose and obtain parts. It's the nature of these vehicles. |

No... I believe the bolts require a 12MM tool. And the socket will not fit in that tight spot. The rocker tower is tight up close to it. I think I will need to get a "T" tool. I hope I can get enough torque on it with that type of tool.
Or am I looking for this type of tool...? Anybody who's done this before?
