We all know what happened to the K-car, it lasted a few years and got junked. Though I'm sure it had fine Corinthean leather.

I had an uncle who bought a new 1966 GTO 2rd post sedan, silver with black interior, manual steering and brakes 3 speed on the floor, (he wanted to get a 4 speed but wife didnt know how to use it, so he thought a 3 speed was better)
I didn't see him often, but ran intohim in San Rafael years later, and he was driving a 1981 Chevrolet Citation X11. I simply couldn't believe it, I asked him what happened to the Goat?
All he said, was when he drove to the Chevrolet dealer in Novato to trade it in, all the Chevy salesman came running out to the street, wanting to buy it for themselves. That ought to have told him something. I can't to this day figure out why he did that...
I would have bought the GTO for myself had I known....someone got lucky at his expense.
He owned some interesting cars before that, a '66 El Camino, '59 Ford, '56 Ford F-100, '50 Buick sedanette......
