I recently moved to Cape Canaveral Florida...close to Orlando....can anyone recommend a good mechanic for an old Benz?

Yeah.....you.

Seriously. I bought my 1980 300SD W116 back in September, and didn't know a thing about diesels (or really anything mechanical, for that matter). Unfortunately, my AC shut down on over Christmas, so I ended up having to find heat quickly. Did a search on here, got some questions answered, and then I went off and bypassed the servo to run coolant through the cab for heat. Something I never would have done if I hadn't been reading a lot on here. Over the past year I've been getting more and more confident as I tackle bigger jobs on her. If you can't figure it out, the members here will be only too glad to help you - I know they have been for my questions.

I'm the only mechanic touching her since I bought her, and I want to keep it that way.

For some good info, look through the DIY articles and DIY links:

As specifically for the engine, take a look here:

Now, your turn for information. We need you to edit your signature so that in future posts, we know what kind of a vehicle you have, miles, etc. That way you don;t have to post it each time.

And drop us some pictures of that baby - everybody loves to look.
