OK, if the key is sitting as a rock I have no idea. But if you can twist it a little but as you say not get it out or to start, it may be the little electric switch close to the gear selector. I have not opened this up myself, but it should be pretty easy to check if somebody can fill you in how....

Moving the stick from P and back, if possible, may also get it into the right position..?
