...do a search on 'fan clutch' there is lots of info.

You need to counter hold the bearing bracket and pulley from behind with a special tool (or the right sized allen wrench). the hole that you hold it from is in the rear of the bracket part and you insert the tool at about 1 or 2 o'clock (looking from the front of the car) between the two notches that can be seen looking down from the top. Also make sure your old fan blade fits your new clutch.

A partly plugged radiator will cause the clutch not to work as well by not kicking off enough heat to activate the bi-metalic strip FWIW.
