vacuum in fuel tank--clogged vent???
I'm new to this forum. (It was recommended to me today by a friend.) I have a 1982 300 TDT. Some time ago when I stopped to get fuel I noticed that the fuel cap was hard to remove. It was REALLY stuck in place by a strong vacuum. Now I let air into the tank whenever I get home.
The cap does not appear to have a vent hole in it. How is the tank supposed to be vented? Around the time that this started happening I also noticed that the fuel gauge stopped working. (It shows a full tank all the time.) Could this be related to a clogged vent???
Thanks,
Peter Christensen
