Help: odd starting patterns

1987 300E

I recently replaced the EHA. The old one was leaking and causing a gas smell to enter cabin. That problem is fixed.

However, now I have some odd starting issues:

1. Starts flawlessly when cold.

2. Very hard to start when warm but has sat for a little while. I seem to have "made it better" twice now by removing the air cleaner. I was just checking things out, didn't find anything, but car then started reluctantly.

3. Funny thing is, I can drive the car long enough to warm it thouroughly, cut it off and restart immediately with no problem. It's only after the car sits warm for a little while that I have troubles.

4. Car seems to run a little reluctantly now and again. Almost wants to bog down at idle, seems to be a little sluggish on acceleration, nothing too frequent or heinous, but noitceable.

I have "searched" and found numerous threads on this topic, but it seemed to me that it must somehow be related to the EHA replacement? Should I try the "famous EHA adjustment" trick?
