Does anyone out there have the transmission and parts to convert a 83 240D to a 4 or 5 speed standard? My automatic went down on me today and I would rather put the money into a standard conversion than have the automatic rebuilt. The problem with the auto is it will shift into second very hard after the engine comes up to almost redline, but won't shift any higher. I'm thinking a possible intermediate piston has either seized or shattered or it could also be a broken band. I really would rather go with a standard though. Thanks for anyone's help in locating the parts for me.
