Radio...what the heck?

Today I decided to try to figure out why the CD player in the turboed 240D does not work. Fist I checked the fuse...burnt out. Changed that and it still does not work. Then I pulled the CD player out and...well...it appears that it was for aesthetic purposes only. The wiring harness was not plugged into it and the harness was not really wired in at all. The switched + and ground wires for the radio ran only to the cigar lighter and stopped there. Not too useful.

The front speakers seemed to be hooked up ok, but there were no wires for the rear speakers. I took a look at the rear shelf and there are no speakers, or holes for speakers there. Weird.

The only wires that seem to be behind the radio when I removed the useless CD player harness are the wires to the front speakers, a blue/black wire that seems to be the ground, and a constant + that somebody has spliced in to the ignition switch.

Did some 240Ds come with no rear speakers? Anybody have a link for a good '79 240D wiring diagram? Sorry for the rant.
