How is the coolant level? Also, when was the last time the hose was changed?

The hose collapse is from a vacuum created by temp difference. Water does not compress, but steam will, and as steam condenses, the pressure decreases to the point that atmospheric pressure is greater than the pressure inside the hose, resulting in a collapse. A waek hose or low coolant level is usually the culprit.

CSX had a tank car collapse after workers steam cleaned the interior, during cold weather, and did not vent the car to keep the pressure even. The car collapsed like an aluminum can. I can send you a picture of it.
