I too had a 92 XJS, and it seemed to be riddled with sensor issues. Once, I took it to the dealer to get a sensor replaced due to the CE light. Got home that evening, and while the car was idling in the driveway, the light came back on again! Another sensor!
That's pretty funny, because the same thing happened to me. The shop replaced the left bank O2 sensor and on the way home the CE light came back on. I looked up the code and it was the coolant temp sensor for the fuel injection, thankfully, a easy and inexpensive fix.

When I first bought the car, the battery would go stone dead in a few days. One night I walked into the garage and saw the headlights turning on and off by themselves, causing the dead battery. I thought the car was possesed. It was the "headlamp logic relay" that had shorted out, and btw, it was made by Bosch, not Lucas.

Some late models MB owners would love to have only those problems, however, so I consider myself to be rather lucky with it.
