Thanks for the help, Matt. I'm now synching with a stratum 2 server at a local university, and all now seems to be well. It's just weired IMO - we've had this server for 3+ years and no problems with the clock, and now, all of a sudden there were issues with it skipping ahead big-time.

Oh well - I guess there are fixes when strange things happen. It's working now, so I'll stop wondering!
