if i remember correctly, they have a small 14gal tank.

31mpg's at that speeds sounds pretty damn good for that speed. But the slower the speed the better the mpg.

If the car is leaking tranny fluid and it shifts like crap then your low on tranny fluid. My suggestion would be to take it to a trans shop and have them look at it. My dads 78 300D trans was leaking and caused it to shift like crap, when we would top it off with new ATF it would shift good and soft.

Eventually my dad took it to a trans shop and they rebuilt it.
