Let me fire the first shot, 300SDL bought for a grand total of $2,900 three years ago.
About $11,349.47 in parts plus the purchase price is $14,249.47. Roughly, its probably more.
Lets see I want to paint her this year and rebuild the trans. Cruise control is needing an amp, and a few more things require attention, still needs about $1k in repairs. Interior could use a bunch of new stuff. I can see doubling what I have into her before she is perfect.
