To put it simply, we need them there and they need us to support them. Just like at my job. I need the money and the company needs me to work. Can anyone tell me that they believe the first Gulf War would have gone as smoothly as it did if Israel had decided to fly a few sorties and what not into Iraq? Remember, Hussein tried to provoke them into a fight by tossing Scuds into their territory. We told them to hold off because Hussein wanted to make it a Jewish arab thing. I believe that if they had even sent a missile back, it would make things a whole lot messier. So, we need them there to hold the fort and they need us to help them out. Also we cooperate on other covert operations. For now, it is a marriage made in heaven. I don't see why we can't understand that. Now, if the arabs were to suddenly die off, well, Israel can go on it's own merry way and so can we. At that point, it will be a quickie divorce.
