Sorry - I had no idea you lived out there. We’ve got a place up off of Hayden in McCormick Ranch. Don’t get out to the dry air too much lately though.
Nope - I missed the sky writing. That’s pretty cool stuff. I’ll have to see if someone’s got pics.
I’m trying like Hell this morning to get out of here (TX) and head that way. Kids are being a bit slow with their packing. But - Gotta love ‘em.
So far, I’ve pretty much been stuck back here hitting and missing with helicopter charters hopping around this weather we’ve been having. I made it out earlier this past week though. Now the kids and I will head out for the evening gatherings and tomorrows events.
As for what we’ve purchased so far: Well - It’s been an odd auction for us this year. DJ is a Brit, and at one time a couple of years back sold her XKE. That’s been bug’n her since. So she set out for another. Bought a ‘63 XKE S1, but someone offered her enough for it to get her to release it prior to taking ownership. (It happens a lot out there.) So then she decides to go more classic and buys a ‘53 XK 120 R. That’s where she stands for now. I sent her for a particular 356 Speedster, and a 356 A Cab., which she did buy. So, Im happy. I’m only keeping the A. The Speedster is for my dad.
Earlier in the week she bought a few American classics, bidding on behalf of some friends of ours. A ‘59 Impala, a ’67 and a ’57 T-Bird. One of which, the ‘57, she thinks she wants to keep. Damn thing is pink.
We’ll see.
We’ll be in the Lifestyle Pavilion this evening at 5:00 or so for sure. Wine tasting thing
(I think). If you head out there - Look for a girl in a white Polo shirt with a TOS Aviation logo embroidered on the front. Her name is Shelby. Find her, and you find DJ and I.
