The clips you want are plastic clips that clip to various places on the intake manifold. You can get them at the dealer or may be able to find them from the "Buy Parts" tab above. I purchased mine at the dealer but haven't had a chance to install them.

They should not be tied and the clips should not be metal.

If you're hungry to get all the shop manuals you can get your hands on, then by all means get the E-Class Bible, but if you're looking for a real shop manual look no further than the Factory Service Manual from Mercedes Benz. Call 800-FOR-MERC or go to http://www.mbusa.com (Mercedes In-Depth -> Classic -> Classic Center -> Technical Literature).
