My brother in law, in a 1967 Corvair was towing my father in law in a 1964 Olds 98. They came down a very long steep hill and my father in law was unable to use the power(less) brakes to slow down the Olds. My brother in law kept going faster and faster until finally he sees the Olds pull out alongside. My brother in law figured he was about to be jerked backwards when the chain pulled up tight. Lucky for both of them the hook on the chain came off and my father in law sped past the Corvair until the next uphill finally stopped him.
