totally agree with MBDOC, above 4000rpm, the M104-24valve really scoots (city and highway)

it is responsive below 4000rpm (1st gear start/no flat spots) and pulls even stronger- 4k through the tach range

(ensure that throttle and bowden are adjusted properly to enjoy)
