Once the pushrod tube seals started leaking, the heating system was terrible. I had a 1966 which would fill the interior with blue oil smoke if you opened the heater vents and turned on the blower.
But you're right, they handled wonderfully. The only problem I found was that the large flat sloping expanse of the trunk would easily ride up on a deep snowdrift in the wintertime, raising the front wheels off the ground. Controlling it then became similar to turning a toboggan.
