We've had a few guys come into the ER with various objects stuck in their rectums. Toilet plunger handle, cucumber, oversized dildo.... Excuses range from a fall to rolling over onto the object.

When I did not know much about cars, I opened what I thought was the trunk on a Porsche, and found a motor!

Same thing happened to me when I was a young punk, mid 1970's.

Our neighbor had a mint red Corvair convertible, motor is rear mounted... Then the son came back from college for the summer and wrecked it after a night out drinking.

Easier back in the day when each year's cars looked different. Today they all look the same.

Or did our brains work better?

I remember listening to cars drive down the road at night and being able to guess the make by the motor.

My sister in law drove her Corvair over a set of rough railroad tracks near a bar. The rear motor mount failed and the engine dropped down (not a big deal in a Corvair). While she was waiting for help, the bar emptied out and people were commenting that the engine fell out and she drove over it.

on my dad's 65 corvair, after a while you would smell hot oil whenever you ran the heater or defroster.

they handled lovelyly though.

just totally undeveloped and crap quality wise i am afraid.

they copied vw's design but unfortunaely left out the quality.

Once the pushrod tube seals started leaking, the heating system was terrible. I had a 1966 which would fill the interior with blue oil smoke if you opened the heater vents and turned on the blower.
But you're right, they handled wonderfully. The only problem I found was that the large flat sloping expanse of the trunk would easily ride up on a deep snowdrift in the wintertime, raising the front wheels off the ground. Controlling it then became similar to turning a toboggan.
