It is possible that the engine control computer is tying to compensate for a bad MAF. Unless you reset the adaptation, the computer doesn't know it is now working with "good" MAF data. Over the course of several start/run/shutdown cycles, the computer should readapt. You
can also reset the adaptation by first clearing all codes, then turn key off and back on for 90 seconds, then back off again prior to start.
