I drove a 82 300SD today... it was nearly perfect, two owner, spotless, and well maintained. EVERYTHING worked.

But when I drove it, I thought it was a little sluggish. The only thing I have to compare it to is my 81 300TD Turbo, which to me is a little more peppy, but I would think they should be similar. I was suprised by how much different it was. It was so much quieter inside.

Also, it seemed like I could feel a vibration in the accelerator pedal with my foot at highway speeds... What would be the normal RPMs in that car at highway speeds?

Also, do all MBs have stiff shifts...? the only thing I am used to is american cars which you can't even feel and then my 300TD which is all wacky with the flaring and the jolting hard shifts.

Can you SD folks give a little insight? I am looking into getting one in general, and I would like to know what else to look for.
