how good would the SD have to be for a person to ask $7k?

I mean, on the outside, it is almost perfect -- perfect like, the black underside coat was even still shiney, the jack holes were still coated, and all the rubber on the car was still soft and shiney -- like a new car -- but I was surprised by the lack of performance. At highway speeds, it didn't just say "yes" when I would try to pass someone. It has almost 200k miles on it, and it hasn't been sitting that long from what I know.

Making an offer is tempting, but I just wasn't sure about the ride. I think 7k is almost impossible to justify unless I don't have to touch a thing on it for 3-4 years, like with a new car.

We got back, I got back in my rusty, bouncy, bad shifting TD and I began to appreciate it a little more.
