I have been fighting a bad algee case
got the car very cheap as it was almost not running because of the algee
droped the main tank strainer and it was covered and blocked by
a inch solid of black gunk so the tank was treated with bio-side and
slowly clearing out
in this trial I have fouled many filters and tryed several cleaning chemical
starting fluid, injector cleaner, windex, pinesol , gas and a few other
things have been tryed
the other day I picked up some 2 1/2 gal tide with bleach containers
planing to use then to collect WVO in
anyway as I was washing out the remaining tide I tryed that in the filter
they came near new clean and clear unlike the other chemicals tryed
thinking about it, bleach is the majic ingreediant, with a little soap/detergent
any way to reuse a primany filter just mix up some bleach and cloth washing soap and water and fill the filter, let it sit over nite and wash out
with water hose
I use a 1/4 hose adpter for a standerd garden hose with a small tube super glued inside and a peice of fuel hose to fit the filter to form a funnel and quick to screw on a garden hose to flush with water
drain it and let it sit on the dash for a few hours to dry
