I put them all back in already and reassembled the hose. I should have taken a picture before I did that. They were clear plastic about an inch and a quarter long, hollow, with the ends shaped like plastic electrical conduit so that one fit inside the next. The largest diameter was exactly the internal diameter of the hose so they slide inside the hose snugly. There was a small slot in the side of the smaller end where it fit inside the larger end of the adjoining one.
