I'm trying to remove the rear passenger window regulator from a '85 300D. I've removed 3, 10mm nuts and detached the window but cannot pull the regulator out. It appears to be blocked by a vertical piece of metal that is attached to the bottom of the quarter glass.

Is end of the vertical piece supposed to be unattached to remove the regulator?
