1. Look for rust at the bottom of the doors, wheelarches, etc.
2. C 280 can have potential headgasket problems.
3. Model years 1996, 97 could have auto. transmission problems.
4. 1998 ( this model received a " facelift ) and newer should be plentyful & reasonably priced.
5. Best advice I can give you is, to have the vehicle checked out by a competent
M-B mechanic.
