Tom, from every thing I've read there is typically some drawback to using other than MB brake pads ... you sacrifice some performance characteristic for less dusting. How well do the ceramic brake pads perform compared to MB brake pads? Will they function if the engine stops and there is no power assist? Do the ceramic brake pads wear MB rotors faster than MB brake pads? Years ago I tried Porterfield brake pads which supposedly produced less brake dust. The difference in brake dust was not as dramatic as advertised and the braking performance was significantly reduced at low speeds ... required more pedal effort. I quickly changed back to MB brake pads and use them exclusively now. Dare I say that I use Kleen Wheels on the front wheels of our cars to prevent the rapid build-up of brake dust ... have never had any problems with overheating as some folks claim, but my wife and I drive conservatively.
