And there's another killer: The
potential for lawsuit. It all boils down to willingness to take responsibility for one's actions. If I went to a mechanic asking for a non-standard fix such as directly wiring the fan to run, I would accept the fact that it may or may not work. And, that the consequences of any negative outcome would lie squarely on my shoulders, not the mechanic's.
Unfortunately, this isn't the trend which I find pretty saddening since it eventually erodes the will to explore simple and creative solutions to problems.
