Primitive car = good
Having doubts about your old benz lately? Don't jump for that new car just yet. Here's something that reminded me why I keep my primitive 300CD around:

Wow....thats just scary. Thankfully MB pretty much makes all parts for their cars produced in the past 40-50 years.

Some vinyl interior parts notably are impossible to obtain even from Germany. Try to get wagon parts for an olive interior...

There's many reasons I'll definately find another mercedes if anything ever happens to mine, but will never buy another Ford.. availability of spare parts is one of the smaller ones.

Not true. After some foreign manufacturer (Citroen?) left US buyers stranded when they left the market and didn't leave parts, Congress enacted a law that there must be actual parts (not backorders) support if a company is leaving the US market. That means, for example, that Daihatsu had to continue actual parts support after they left the market fifteen or so years ago.

The POS Fords I had were reliably breaking down. This was 20 years ago, and I have not owned a FORD product since then. GM is not much better, but I will say the GM stuff I had lasted longer and required less wrench time than the Ford stuff.
