my car is a 1997 C200( w202 chassis).

The monowiper does not go back to its resting position on switching off the wiper.

it comes to rest about 5 inches above where it should be hence obstructing the field of vision on the driver's side.

i have tried to clean and lube the shafts under the plastic cover but the problem pesrsists.

any ideas what could be wrong?-i tried to search the archives but no joy so far.
