Late this afternoon, I noticed that 3 of 4 muffler hangers on my 280E were gone. It was too late to special-order them from Napa and Midas wanted $6 a piece them; and who knows if they are cheap knock-offs or not. I realize this is Sunny, Bloody-expensive California, but $6 is insane - especially in view of the fact that 1 1/2 years ago, I bought the same hangers from Midas for $3 a piece. In the end, I found 4 "Basin Mack Gaskets" in the plumbing dept. at Ace Hardware for $2 each. Even if they only last a year - just as MBZ hangers do - it's worth it.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever used a different replacement for our constantly-failing muffler hangers.
