I have some euro brochures, and this car is correct with the exception of the headlights and speedometer, which have been changed to meet federal regulations.

The hubcaps were the standard issue on euro models, and the tach was an option. One way to tell that the gauges are of the right vintage is that they do not have the chrome circles in the center like earlier cars, they have the black ones. Another way to tell is the later style HVAC system (complete with German descriptions below the buttons(!)).

The Airbag is real and was available from +/- 1981 on 123 models. I can't tell from what I have if they made the Airbag available without ABS. Can we say for sure that this car doesn't have ABS? That was also available on 123s of the same approximate vintage, but I don't see an ABS module in the picture, not that I know what it looks like on those cars..

One thing I'm curious about is where the breather hose from the valve cover goes on this car, and why not to the top of the air cleaner as on US-spec cars? What difference does that make (if any) to performance?

Somebody buy this gem!
