I don't know what to make of this report from the left-wing website
http://thinkprogress.org , but it makes me wonder whether some of the "experts" in favor of aggressive military action in the Middle East are in touch with reality:

Sometimes I listen to Richard Perle, Norman Podhoretz, Dick Cheney, et al., and I think they sound as if they are mentally ill. I have assumed that notion comes mostly from my own lack of expertise in the subject matter, as if these guys aren't insane, they just see the world different than do I. Every now and then, though, they say things that are just insane, plain a simple.
It's scary because Podhoretz is an influential guy.
